Or take the "long way" to work.

I started making sure to let it run for two minutes and not allowing the EITMS to kick in and it seems to run smoother. The idle can be a little bouncy when cold too. So anyone else have similar problems? How long do you let her warm up before riding away? Oh this is a 2014 SG. Thanks guys.

Rule number 1: Don't believe everything you read!

About the time it takes to put your helmet on(in helmet **** states), and gloves, you should be good to go. I used to have to wait 5-10 minutes with my carburated V-Star.......ain't fuel injection great!!

Default Temperature and Oil Flow Dependent

An old timer once showed me to place a finger under the edge of the head and feel for the oil to have warmed up the surface. That way you know the oil is flowing and it's warm. I also watch the tach for when it settles down to normal idle.

Depending on temperature it may be 2 minutes or as long as 4-5 minutes this time of year when the morning temps are in the high 30s or low 40s.

After changing cams and getting it tuned correctly, it does take a few minutes longer because the engine just runs cooler... not going back tho--

I live in Hawaii so it is pretty warm every morning, no less than 65 so I figured two minutes should be enough.

It generally runs for a minute or two while I'm gearing up and backing it out of the garage. In 80 degree weather, the bike's ECM is in warmup mode for 10 miles.

Default Yep

Long enough to put on gloves....Never misses a beat on the roll out of driveway...on the road hammer it! Need the neighbors to know I'm gone.
but since it's 2 degrees this A.M. I will be driving the jeep to work...it needs a few more minutes to warm up!

As others have said, only about a minute; then don't ride it hard coming out of the chute.
