Default Lowering Street Glide question?????

I have changed my seat to the sundowner on my 2009 Street Glide. I really love this seat but I can't sit flat foot on the bike. I don't want to change the shocks. If I change the front wheel to a 19inch would that lower the rear so I can put my feet on the ground? I have the stock wheel now and that's a 17inch.

I'm 5ft 7in and 200 Pounds

Any suggestions.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!!

No.

The only way to go lower, is to go lower.

You can do the front end kit, will net you a little, or add blocks, which will net you a little...

Or do both.

Agreed, go lower or have the seat narrowed. (That gets your legs "straighter" to the ground.)

Street Glides come lowered from the factory. You can still install lowering blocks or shorter rear shocks, as well as drop the front. But the seat itself might be the problem. Mean city cycles can lower the riders position an additional inch.

Default Lowered front and rear

Mine is lowered 1" in the front using Progressive spring kits and lowered the same in the back with shock blocks. Some owners will tell you that the blocks mess up the geometry on the shocks but...couldn't prove it by me. I really like the lowered chassis cause I am short legged and can now sit flat footed on the ground.
One thing to consider is the lost ground clearance you will experience lowering the chassis. I will say that I have had little or no clearance issues. Just be aware that could happen depending on your riding style.

I say slam it! Mine is lowered 2" front and 1.5" rear using the Burly Street Slammer Kit. I love the look and feel of a lowered bike.

You can lower the rear, which will get your feet back flat. More Info HERE.

when looking at stock hd tires/wheels, the 16'', 17'', 18'' and 19'' all have virtually the same overall diameter. the 17'' is actually the tallest of the 4, by a couple hundred thousandths of an inch.....

I would not lower it any more than a 1" fork kit. IMO any lower in the rear is too negative to the handling. If you need the footing go to a drop seat kit like the FBI kit it will get you a couple inches lower without loosing suspension travel. Or add a inch to your riding boots or try a C&C seat it will lower you 1.5 inch over stock
