Default Heated Grips for 2010 Ultra

For the past several years I have thought about adding heated grips to my 2010 Ultra Classic. The parts guys at the local HD shop tell me they can't them on my bike, but on the HD website it says they do! Have any of you out there added Harley heated grips to a 2010 Ultra and if so are they plug and play? Thanks in advance.

Yes,.... they can be added, but the HD catalog says that most cant be used with internally wired bars. I had the stock heated grips on my 2010 Limited, so I don't think your dealer is correct.

If you have stock bars they are plug and play.

X2.

I recently installed some Heat Demons last year. These will last longer then the problematic hand grips that HD makes and looks really clean.

Heat demons recently came out with a new unit that contains 3 heating elements. 2 are the same heating cylinder that fits inside your bars and 1 new heating element that wraps around the TBW grip sensor with a 3M type sticky wrap.

BTW, Eastern Performance Cycles has a good price point on theses Heat Demons, best price that I could fine.

Good luck,

YB

The On/Off 4 position heater switch is shown on the clutch side assembly. You can opt of either chrome or black.

The stock type heated grips are not problematic but the other accessory grips were poor. I have had both and if you can handle the stock type grips they work best. I you want different grips, heat demons are better. Mike

I had the stock heated grips on my 2010 Limited. I wanted different bars and also a different looking heated HD heated grip. I went with the chrome and rubber style. I had the HD tech install all of that before I picked up the bike. He said that he would not be able to run the wire inside the bars with all of the other control wires. It's barely noticable and I have never had a problem with those heated grips. In fact I used them yesterday and today.
But, all that said, I would investigate the Heat Demons since the HD heated grips are known to be problematic.

Here's how the HD chrome and rubber heated grips look:

I have a 2010 Ultra, the dealer installed the heated grips before delivery no problems.
