I was told by one chrome plating company they don't do these because they are stainless steel and don't come out very well, anyone else have theirs done? If so who did yours? Or do I just buy the HD ones that are already chrome?

They are stainless on many models, but I would think your could just buy chrome slider covers brand new for less than a shop would get to chrome used ones.

Your plating house is correct..........I just had my lowers switched out and ended up getting the kit that included the chrome uppers. If you put the stainless uppers and the chrome side by side you can see the difference. IMHO I would spring for the chrome uppers also.

Some dealers have chrome plated lowers in inventory, ready for exchange with your stockers. No waiting.

Also the stock cowbells have a weld in the back and the chrome is solid all the way around.
