Question Baker Attitude Adjuster Question...

I'll be installing a Baker adjuster on my 2012 UC this spring. The bike has the original primary chain with about 12,000 miles on it.

Just wondering if I should replace the chain while it's removed for the Baker install.

The kicker is that I won't be able to put but maybe a couple hundred miles on the bike after the Baker install before I head out for a 4-week 8000 mile ride. I really won't be able to check/adjust the new chain on this trip as I will be in a different city just about every day.

Or should I just run with the original chain?

With that little mileage I wouldn't worry about chain replacement. Your chances of getting slack in the chain and needing adjustment would be greater with a new chain because of initial break-in wear.

Just waiting for another sale from baker and I'll pick one up. Heard it really protects the ipb from a too tight chain condition that the stock adjustable sometimes causes. Can't ride for at least two months so I have time...

not only that but it made a differance in my primary noise and made the compensator quiter too. biggest thing is you know it's adjusted correctly and it's not changing.
