Default 2014 FLHR Road King with Saddlebag Guards

My bike is getting some add-ons installed before delivery and one is the Sadldebag Guards (90200561)

Today the dealer called and said they dont fit the 2014 Road King due to interference with the rear turn signals even though the HD website says it fits that bike.

They say I need the very newly introduced (1 month ago) new LED saddlebag attached turn signals (67800449)

Has anyone any experience with these saddlebag guards on the 2014 RK?

Bob

Skip them and do a stage 4 before delivery.

Just checked the fitment tab and it looks like you're in the same boat I am. I actually like the rails but they won't fit my SGS.

This is what the fitment says:
Fits '14 Touring models (except FLHRC, FLHRSE, FLHX and FLHXS). FLHTKSE models require separate purchase of Slotted Saddlebag Filler Strips.

Good choice on the color. Looks AWESOME on the King!

So you are confirming what they told me, doesn't fit your SGS also?
Is this from experience of the website? (I am not up on Harley's model identifiers you quoted)

Sounds like they are trying to sell you turn signals or they don't know what they are doing and shouldn't be working on your bike.

I will admit they are a bit of a PIA to put on. The clearance is tight but not with he turn signals. They pose no problem but you have to thread the bars from front to back through the rear bracket cut outs at the back of the bags. It's in the instructions and it works but it takes a little maneuvering . I love the look and the extra protection too. Good luck and congrats on your new bike, you're gonna love it!

I realize this thread is over a year old, but if anyone has any suggestions or hints on installing these, it'd be much appreciated. I can't get get my guards past the slot in the back. Thanks.
