primary fluid servicing ?
i have changed my fluids before but i was wondering about the primary fluid. i know how not enough fluid can hurt the primary but can too much hurt it? if you put 1-7 extra ounces will this effect anything? not sayin to do it just wondering if it effects anything

you'll need about 38 oz ( so buy 2 bottles of the primary+ lube) the level check is visual as outlined in the manual.
what happens with extra fluids, is that the lube can be whipped into a foam and a foam does not lube bearings as well.
if you really want to get all the old stuff out, drain it and then put a zip tie on teh clutch lever...the lube in the clutch can then drain out...I leave over night.
I may even briefly start the bike in the morning to spin out any remaining lube.
maybe 2 or 3 oz difference

what i do when servicing my bike is to adjust the clutch before i do anything else. that way the clutch is at ambient temperature as per the manual. then i run the bike to get everything up to operating temp.
apparently i'm not as **** as mike is about getting every last drop of old primary fluid out which is not necessarily a bad thing to do...... i just park the bike upright in my condor chock, and drain the fluids until they stop.
oh one thing i would recommend. do not drain the primary until after you get the derby cover screws out. i don't usually have a problem with them, but i would hate for everything to be drained and then not able to get the screws out.
