Default removing tourpak

I'm taking the tourpak off my eglide. There are two cables coming into the left front of the tourpak through a rubber grommet. One goes to the am/fm radio antenna. The other ends in an electrical connecter. I suspect I have to remove the three color coded wires from the plastic connector in order to get the wires out through the grommet. Or is it possible to remove the grommet without wrecking it?
