Default Headlight Bulb Replacement

Changed out the bulb on my 2004 EG Standard. To my surprise, the bulb I bought at Autozone was the same exact bulb that came with the bike. The bulb was the original bulb. I used Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA/H4. Now on to change the passing lamps.

How did Autozone sneak into your garage and steal your headlight bulb?
You said it was the same exact bulb?

Are you sure that's really the original bulb? That means it's 10 years old. All three of my HD's came with a standard Silvania.

If you want bright spotlamps, I suggest Wagner aircraft landing lights, part number 7509 at 100 watts each...install them with a Bosch relay, use bigger wire than stock, and consider rewiring the switch to work independently of the headlights. I don't have the part number for the headlights, but you should be able to go into any NAPA or mom 'n' pop auto parts store and they can go to the books for that. It is rare that I actually get to use them in SoCal because there are cars on every road at every hour of the night anymore...but they really do light up the road!

I replaced my 35 watt passing bulbs with sylvanias 50 watt bulbs (part number 988) and they are way better than stock almost to bright I am using amber lens covers on the passing lamps now so not getting cars at night flashing their high beams at me , I have also upgraded my headlight bulb to sylvanias xtrea vision h4 which now I found out the life of this bulb is not so great we will see
