Can anyone else confirm that the stock brake and clutch hydraulic cables will work for 12" apes?

thanks,
Wes

My stock lines reach for the 16's I have on mine. Just have to do a little rerouting by removing the levers and half clamps from the mc's and passing them through the frame section to free up some line.

My brake and clutch lines were ok. I installed the the new ones since they were stainless braided ones
I have the 12" stainless steel kst bars
I used the la choppers kit from jp cycle. It comes with banjo bolts copper washers clutch line. Brake line left and right brake lines
I also used namez wire extenders.
Unfortunately I ended up cutting and soldering the throttle by wire line because with the other wires going inside the bars I ran out of room and the factory connectors wouldn't make it through.
I have the Avon heated grips but I can't figure them out so I'll be sending them back to get regular grips.
You need to bleed the clutch line which was ok. I needed to loosen the exhast to get the trans cover off. The brakes also need to be bled. That's where I'm at now.
If you have basic mechanical knowledge and a good memory you can do it. It will save a bunch of money if you do it yourself.
I think I paid close to $800 for the parts. No where close to $3000. You will need to pick up some brake fluid from HD

I like that look I want to do that to my 2014 SGS soon. I was going to have the dealer do it when I purchased the bike so that it would all be covered under warranty. The price was not that bad if I remember correctly it was about $1300.00 for 12" bars and wire extensions. But when I asked about getting all of my stuff back that they would be taking off. They said what ever they take off they keep! So I passed on that.

I'm not sure where you are in Fl, but I do apes on these bikes all day long for 250.00 in labor or 500.00 parts and all...Shoot me a PM if interested.

No way I would pay someone that type of money for apes. 250 labor is reasonable.

I have done several and it's not that hard of a job.
