On my '99 RK I really love my Corbin Dualtourer seat. Moves me back and a bit lower.

If he also a large man like me (300 lbs) the firmer seat of the Corbin will keep his tailbone from hitting the plastic seat pan which happened for me on the softer HD and Mustang seats.
Tailbone + Seat Pan = Not good.
PS, my not large wife loves it also.

The Harley Tall Boy seat is all you need to do what you want, the late model bikes use a completely redesigned Tall Boy seat and is way different than the original version and that's the one most people comment on. The new version will put you down a bit and back about 2 inches. I'm 6'2" and it worked wonders for me on my 13 Ultra. Oops just noticed your talking 2002 not sure what would work best, from what I know the original Tallboy doesn't get very good reviews but will put him back and up.

Seat threads are like Cams, Oil and exhaust threads everyone will have their opinion. I am no different for money reasons at the time I had Mean City in NC do my seat until I could get $$ saved for a better than stock seat. I am 6'3" 235 lbs. they lower me and moved me back I liked it so much that I still have not brought another seat. It may not work for everyone but for the money it is worth a look good luck.

My local dealer has a large selection of HD demo seats they let you borrow so you can see how they feel on your bike.
I think my dealer only demos Harley branded seats, but you might want to see what your dealer offers.
There are a lot of great non-Harley seats out there, but it's also nice to be able to sit on a seat before you spend the big bucks on it.
