Looking for any updates on this thread ... I am looking to add the Smart siren 2 and a pager to my 16 Road King. Any more comments on range and battery life between the 2 pagers ?

I guess it would depend on how you use it. I only use my pager when touring and staying in "big box" hotels (which I try to avoid). The smaller ones where you can park in front of your room, I just depend on the siren. I opted for the battery model. Only using it at night doesn't use much battery and I buy batteries for cheap at Amazon. Works for me.

I had the rechargeable one, it lasted an average of two weeks+, and that was constantly on.
So depending how often I shut it off I could go over a month or two before charging it again.

I have the rechargeable version. I use it only when traveling overnight. It seems to last a long time between charging. I can run it at least a couple of nights without charging. I like the relievers size and method of clipping onto the waist of my jeans.

I have the rechargeable model.

I used it in July 2012 when I rode cross-country. I took 3 weeks to do the trip. I would recharge it at night, in the motel, as it monitored my bike outside. I was going from motel to motel and carrying the small charger wasn't an issue .... I haven't camped off my bikes since early 90's.

I didn't use it for 3 years. It was in a drawer. I went on a 4 day trip 2 weeks ago. I charged it overnight 3x during the week before I left. It ran all night, all 4 nights, no issues.

Now it's back in the drawer... until the next adventure...

I use the battery one. I use it at work, as our parking lot is also open to the public.
I get a full riding season on a battery, but keep a spare around just in case. The thing I like about the battery one is that it has a nice clip on it to which I attach a key chain garage door opener. Fits nice on the belt using the holster. It also has a built in teeny LED bulb that serves as a flashlight. If not for those things I'd probably went with the rechargable one.

truth is it doesn't matter. an experienced thief will have your seat off and pull the TSSM in about 1 minute, you will never hear the siren or the page.

I continue to use the rechargeable one a couple times a week whenever I ride the bike. I leave it on charge in the house, then turn it in in the morning and leave it in all day.

It has run for days when I've forgotten to charge it. Would never want to mess with the batteries.
