Default 2013 anniversary models with the crome 28 spoke mag.

Hello fellow riders.......
Well where do I start ?
So I un-covered my bike last week and cleaned it all up went for a ride for about two hours to burn up all the old, treated fuel and realized that I never checked my tire pressures.so I found that it is almost impossible to get to the tire stem on this wheel.
so I went to my local Harley dealer and they sold me a extension to screw onto the valve stem.
Well that is just as difficult as checking with tire gauge.
so I did some research the web ( H D FORUMS ) and found that the only real solution to this problem is to install the L-shape valve stem on the wheel .
YEA RIGHT ! who is going to pay to take the two tires off dis mount the two put the new valve stems into the rim and remount the two tires?

THANKS HARLEY DAVIDSON................

I have the same wheels, I don't find it to be much of an issue. Not the easiest, no, but not worthy of starting a thread over, either.

It sucks, yes. But it is doable. It helps to have a 90 degree angle on both your air chuck, and your pressure gauge (or an all-in-one).

I just find it odd that this is the first time you have checked your tire pressure.

First of all, nice bike. Second, stop freaking. Just buy a cheap 90 degree valve extender from an auto parts store and take it on and back off when you need to inflate your tires. I bought a $60 cordless tire inflater from Slime so I can air up at home. It's much better than waiting in line at the gas station.

Bunch of snivelers with these knuckle wheels.! My Dad is 72, rides his 2009 Ultra almost every day and checks his tires every pre ride. I never heard him bellyache about it. When I did ask him he said it takes a little finagling but so what. He said it keeps him young.

Your mags are a piece of cake to get to compared to having the cage of spokes surrounding the valve stem!

Just get a pair of Camco valve stem extensions. They don't take up much room in the side case at all, and it makes checking your tire pressure a lot easier.

Oh... and one more thing: check your pressure a bit more regularly than once every two seasons. (I'm joking with ya.)

Glad you solved your problem. May check into those myself.

Your bike is a beauty and I really like that brown seat. Is it a Mustang Tripper?

Thumbs up

Appreciate the thread. Got the same bike with the same issue. So far I just been fighting it every time I check the tires. Guess I better check into those extensions...
