Looks likew a winner! Time to google. I have a few ghost towns around here but it's mostly foundations and no buildings.

There are a couple of ghost towns around me... but not very "ghost"ish.

Gruene for example is now a shopping and tourist destination.

http://www.gruenetexas.com/

And it is listed on ghosttowns.com

http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/tx/gruene.html

AND there is a Harley dealer but a couple miles from the town proper

What is the "OFFICIAL" qualifier going to be?

I don't care a bit to ride... but most of what I've found within a few hours is not what in MY mind qualifies...

But if being listed on a site like ghosttown.com qualifies....

Not my call, and really don't matter, up to y'all

I never thought of a ghost town as a place of activity, however since I didn't know doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I would say if it on a listed town as a ghost town, or abandoned town (sorry city of detroit doesn't qualify) that has ghostly look to it then we will be good.

Don't forget the sock though.

I can't find anything that in my mind works...

There are over 900 "ghost towns" in Texas, but most are no more than a crossroads or have been absorbed by a larger town.

I'd love to find one with dirty streets, abandoned buildings and tumbleweed blowing down the street.... but you said Detroit didn't qualify.
Funny thing is, Detoilet is probably the closest thing there is.

Gruene, as mentioned above, kind of fits, but fell into the tourist destination thing, which pulled it back out of ghost status, in my head.... like Dodge City, KS.

GREAT challenge!!! Y'all have fun with it!

Highwayman, looking at your picture I noticed you have a bottle holder on the lower. What brand? Do you like the way it works?

Not trying to steal the thread either. Ghost town in NC wow I got my work cut out for me. Why didn't you make it easy like a grismill or something????

The bottle holder is drinks2go.net. Got it off ebay, cheap about 15.00 if I remember correctly. I also have locking glove boxes off ebay, bought them for $31.00, made with abs plastic, I just took the handle bar clamp thing and unscrewed it then drilled 2 holes in the locking glove box just off to the side so it would miss the document holder inside the locking glove box. Highly recommend both.

This thread turned into a ghost town, lol. Too cold everywhere or do we need to change the challenge?
