Default Tire for tire change

This is a dumb question but I have a new tire (front) Can I put it on the rear if I reverse the rotation? Safely

If its the same size and non directional go for it, otherwise follow the proper rotation indicated on the tire

Front tires and rear tires are a different design and not interchangable. The rear is design for braking loads and driving loads.

Really depends on the brand. Some tyres are dual purpose and can be used either end, but some are very specifically intended for front or rear. Wotyagot?

just brake, so loading is only in one direction. some tires take advantage of that fact with the way the plies are laid down.

OP: the tire will say on the sidewall if it is front wheel only.

I do not think this is wise. I would not do.
