Default Race Bearing

I posted a couple of weeks ago about a noise from the primary side in stop and go traffic. It was only in first gear when the clutch was in. I had the bike in for it's 1000 mile service. They found metal shavings in the transmission fluid. On inspection, they found the race bearing was falling apart. He said the noise would be on the primary side, which is where I heard the noise. My concern is, was it a defective bearing, or did something else cause the bearing to go bad. Has anyone else experienced this problem. This is a 2014 Limited.

Do you mean "Bearing Race"? If so I suspect a bearing race was defective from the very beginning. I doubt it was anything you did.

Not sure, he said it was the race bearing.
