If someone wants the bike, well.............
Several years ago I read an article in a magazine about stealing bikes. Seems this
adjuster got a call from a policy holder that had an older model Electra Glide stolen
right out of his garage.
When the adjuster arrived at the policy holders garage, he said, "something seems
fishy". The guy had an older model Buick station wagon in the garage blocking the
bike in. The car was locked and the bike was locked and chained as well, the adjuster
said. No room up either side to get the bike out if the thieves had tried to roll the bike
out that way.
"So", the adjuster thought, "this guy is trying to deceive me by having the bike stolen
and then collecting the insurance money."
As he was finishing up his investigation the adjuster said he noticed some scratch marks
on the rear door of the station wagon. Upon closer examination he found scratches all
along the top of the cars' roof.
Evidently the thieves wanted this bike because it was evident that several "BIG"
dudes had picked up the bike and carried it over the top of the station wagon.
I do not know if this story is true, but it was interesting reading.

Theives should all be shot twice and then turned over to the Police.
I thought everybody had heard about the 3 "S's"......Shoot, Shovel, Shut up.

Good insurance policy comes in very handy and you get the new ride and start new project.

I have the Ride Scorpio alarm on mine. It is set to give warning chirps if you stand too close it. Twice while staying in a motel in Baytown, Tx. I had the alarm wake me in the night. Both times I went out and found the cover pulled off of the bike, but the bike still safe and no one around. To me, the alarm is worth every penny.

I keep my bikes fully insured and use the factory installed security and locks. So far its worked pretty well for me.

I try to make sure I keep nothing of any value in my saddlebags when I park it, I don't want my bike getting vandalized by some kids who think it's funny ( hear stories all the time ). I try to park it within eyesight of wherever I'm going..

For the most part, I know anything bad that happens is just going to be a headache. That's what we pay insurance for right?

If anyones messing with my bike at home though, I'm not going to be so nice.
