Angry 2008 FLHTCU loss of steering.

Has anyone had a problem with the fork lock pin inadvertantly dropping down and locking the fork while riding?

I did. 6 crushed ribs. Puncrured lung. Broken collarbone, shoulder blade and shoulder.

About 6K damage to the bike (which I did ride home).

My shop guy tells me it's only the second time in 35 years he's seen it happen.

Just sitting here hurting and wondering as I wait for the insurance check....

Sorry to hear this. get well soon.
When this pin dropped were the handlebars cocked 'all the way' over to the left or right?? i am trying to figure out how this could happen under normal riding.

Cool Wild Tales

You rode the bike home with 6 crushed ribs,a punctured lung,a broken collarbone & shoulder. That is almost as hard to believe as the fork lock pin locking up the fork while moving and not in a full lock position.I'm sorry, but I am not buying your story.

Man I am sorry this happened! this happened to my dads 2008 ultra in a huge right turn...went through the ditch and was able to keep it from going down, we all stopped and he was white as a ghost. took to a few shops and could not find any issues with it
