You forgot to add: "and change it when you are supposed to" (I may use the Quick Silver next time.)

Is it possible that Syn3 could be better for our Harley's engines than Mobile 1, even recognizing that Mobile 1 is a superior lubricant? That is basically what Harley claims. Not trying to hijack this thread, just something to consider while considering Mobile 1. This is my concern.

I switched from Syn3 to Mobile 1 20/50w last year on my 110. I just had cam work done by Frank Drago, Frank changed the oil after the dyno run with none other then Mobil 1 20/50w that's about all the data I need. (Frank knows a thing or 2 about high performance engines)
Couple that with the fact that you can pick up Mobil 1 20/50w just about anywhere and it's what I will be running from now on. I also run it in the primary.

We need more oil threads, if nothing else some of the responses on here are better than anything on TV right now. Some of the Medieval thinking is exactly what Harley shops want so your willing to allow them do your services using there brand fluids and paying there prices for twice and sometime three times what it would cost to do it your self with arguably better quality fluids.
Like Harley engines are made from some secret materiel that requires you to use the 60% syn oil or else total engine meltdown!
And i'm basing my response on trial and error on well over 100,000 miles between the bikes i've owned in the limited time i've been riding.

I serviced my 2011 Heritage using the Quicksilver 20w50 last Saturday. I went on a 200 run down the Deals Gap, NC This oil was as quiet on the top end of the motor as when I use the 20w50 Dino oil. I have been a long time user of the Mobile 1 vTwin, but felt it was more noisey on the valve train then the Dino. The Quicksilver had a more oil like feel to it and poured more like Dino. The Mobile 1 feels thinner on the fingers and tools.
