The only sure fix for any of these symptoms is the surgery.
The operation is relatively simple, with a speedy recovery time and very reliable results.
The carpal tunnel syndrome operation has been around for quite some time and the Ortho and Neuro Guys are very experienced at this procedure.
As for the gent that has pins and needles in the arms when riding and constant P&N's in the hands - this can well be a cervical Spine issue - an MRI to identify the levels in the neck that are putting pressures on the nerves is in order and then speak to the specialists about options.
In this day and age there is no real reason to live with these symptoms, modern medicine has a place
Good luck guys!

Don't put off the surgery, 15 minutes on the table, 3-4 weeks later your riding again.
Parts of your hand will be sore or tender for a few months, but afters that its all like new.
I can do so many things that I didn't realize I wasn't doing because I couldn't hold tools, play my guitar, basic stuff that I used to enjoy.
And the riding has never been better, no more numbness in either hand ever!

Been fighting carpal tunnel causing numb hand and thumb last 2 years. Usually starts within about 20 minutes of riding, use the cruise and shake hand out and keep a really light grip but still always an issue. Have changed grips bars etc no help, although the Yaffe Mb's sure help the back and shoulders. Finally ordered a set of qwi gloves a guy told me about, road today with wife on a nice long ride and amazed they really helped hand never went numb. Got the leather palm spandex backed fingerless ones very happy with how they worked.

Three simple things to try. 1--Be conscious of keeping your wrist flat when you ride (not with your hand rolled back higher than your forearm; 2--make sure your gloves are big enough. Too tight gloves can cause numbness. 3--If the gloves are the proper size and have an adjustable wrist strap, make sure the wrist strap is loose. Tightening it down can cause numbness.
For God's sake try these things before scheduling surgery!
