I put mine (parking permit) between the tree's on the fork.

 

Anything removable (bolt on) is illegal downstate, not sure about your neck of the woods...might want to check. No pic in your post so not sure if we're talking about the same thing!

 

Sorry I have no pic I was just looking for a pic of one. As for being bolt on and removable isn't everywhere on the bike that way?

 

The bike is customized and I just want a cleaner look, plus when the clowns at the inspection station scratch everything up scraping the stickers off instead of using a heat gun.

 

I use http://www.stickerplate.com/ for my military installation decals. American made, family owned and a pleasure to work with.

 

In Missouri we have those stupid inspection stickers! I always remove the old one before I take the bike to the inspection station to prevent idiot scratching....then I wax that area where I will have them place the new sticker. As soon as they are done I go straight home and peel that sticker off and place it on a piece of thin cardboard and put it with my other documents! I have been prepared to tell the story that it was falling off so this is where I keep it! Not sure if I would get a large fine or not but I am taking my chances! Haven't been stopped on the bike in 18 years of riding....so good so far!!

 

Lived in NY many years and always used a plate attached at the lower left crash bar mount. My dealer in NY put it on the bike when purchased new. The law is it cannot be placed on an item that is "easily" moved from one vehicle to another. Now, I'm in Maine and new requirement is the insp. sticker is on our license plate.

 

Hawaii inspection stickers go on a plate that mounts to the bottom of the license plate. Not a bad looking location if legal in NY.
