Bought one this winter but haven't installed it yet.
Waiting for a big trip, around town or a few hours each way is no biggie, but anything past that and I'm thinking the backrest will come in mighty handy

The only thing I need to do different is to move my highway pegs, they now hit a different way than before.

I went with the fixed backrest because the guys I ride with never move theirs

Here is my seat and backrest
I have the same seat and same fixed backrest on my '07 Ultra. It pushes me forward too much.

If I take the seat off and look at the mount there are 4 holes you can use. Let's label them 1-4 with 1 being the forward most hole and 4 being in the rearmost hole.

I can only use number 3 hole. If I try to use hole 2 or 1 (which moves the backrest to the rear), the seat will not go all the way down and cannot be attached to the fender. The number two hole is a good location as the rest does not push me forward and is very comfortable but the seat will ride about 1" above the fender and seat mounting screw will not line up with fender nut. I rode this way on a 1600 mile trip, was actually good but I'd rather have the seat mounted to the fender.

I've thought about eating the loss on this and getting the adjustable version, though I'd have to buy both the mount and backrest all over again. Thing is I don't know if it would fit any better. Instructions for the one I have state the mount location may not work in all locations depending on seat. I'm a little miffed that the Stock backrest doesn't work very well with the Stock seat....

So am I the only one that gets pushed forward because although there are 4 mount locations only one actually works?

I have the same setup and agree it was one of the best things I've added to the bike. I can use all 4 holes. I tried all of them when I was fitting it to me. If I remember right, I'm using #3 also. I never move mine either, so I saw no reason to get the adjustable one.
