It's a 9/16 6-point deep socket. Here's a link to see what it looks like.

Thanks Bill. As much as Idon't want to buy one, the alternative is the dealer. At least $42.00 in labor.

Just get a 9/16" deep socket and cut a slot for the wire with a dremel tool. I got my socket at a pawn shop for 1.00, and it took about 5 minutes to cut the slot.

I had posted a picture of my socket, but just did a search and couldn't find it. I will post another pic if you wiould like.

Regards,

Bill

Bill, post up another picture if you can find one. I have the need to make one of these sockets now that I installed the passing lights on my 07 SG.

thanks

I posted a question last night on here about the exact same question, under ' need advice on', Was told by Bill and grover about the snap on socket, but believe I will dremel out a craftsman socket I have. Bought a new 9/16 yesterday to notch/slice it out, but decided to use the older one I have had for a while. The new one has a purdy etch on the side that is easier to read. Maybe I should convert all my sockets? OH WAIT... I have a Harley now. No extra money can be spent unless it is on the king.

I took my Ultra Classic to a local dealership last week to have the spot lights adjusted. I was expecting them to charge at least 1/2 hour labor, which would have been about 42.00. To my surprise they didn't charge me anything. They will certainly get my repeat business.

Here is a pic of the socket I made. The slot can be cut with a cutting wheel on a dremel tool. Make sure that you get the cut real smooth with no sharp edges that could cut the lamp wire.

Bill
