2014 Street Glide: Hand-Adjustable Rear Shock or Progressive?

Harley Hand-Adjustable Rear Shock or Progressive?
My 2014 Street Glide came with standard air shocks. However, the 2014 Street Glide 'Special' comes with, what I think is, the Hand-Adjustable Rear Shocks.
My question, should I upgrade my standard air shocks to the Harley upgraded shocks that come with the 'special' or should I get the Progressive shocks?

It is worth pointing out that when solo, most shocks will ride OK, however if any of you ride 2-up or fully loaded on that Grand Tour, the rules change! Many shocks simply cannot cope with the extra weight, plus your favourite passenger endures a different riding experience back there, compared to the rider up front. She deserves the very best, so don't budget on buying budget (cheap) shocks! If you can afford a 2014 bike, you can afford top shelf shocks - nothing less will do!!!!

I really like my Harley Air Shocks. When the proper amount of pressure is in them they ride nice. The manual has a chart and it works out to be an average of 1psi for every 10 pounds of added weight. Example: if you weigh 180 pounds and carry about 10 pounds of gear in your bags your pressure should be 20psi.

I've had stock air, Progressive, and the Premium from a SGS. The Premiums are the best and currently on my scooter. Buddy lowered his and took off the Premium from his 14" SGS and I was standing there when he pitched them . Both sets of Progressives I had on just had too "firm" a ride.

I think whatever you get give them a chance to brake in. I suggest however that you buy the HD premium ride shocks as they seem like a very high quality shock. Buy from an online HD dealer and save some bucks.

I would buy Ohlins or JRi , the other shocks are not on the same level , what makes a shock perform well or not is how responsive it is to change , when you put shocks on a dyno it shows you how fast they react to change (a bump or pot hole etc.) A slower reacting shock will never keep you in as much control or ride as smooth as a faster reacting shock. Ohlins and JRi both were built from race technology and are very fast reacting shocks.
