Default Melted microfiber cloth onto exhaust pipe

Anybody have the solution to removing melted microfiber cloth from exhaust pipe. Tried Harley boot mark remover. Didn't touch it. Trying steel wool and chrome cleaner now and doesn't look promising. Help!! Lol. Update.... Got it off with the steel wool and polish but took the crime finish off. Right side pipe where it meets heat shield. I'll see if I can live with it. If not new pipe time.

My pipe may have been hotter? This is a nightmare even with steel wool and I'm sure it's going to scratch the chrome up. Elbow grease!

I melted Frog Toggs on mine. I use the soap pads (Brillo). Took some work, but can't tell it.

I did the same thing and the only thing that work for me was ez off oven cleaner. Yellow can. Took heat shield off and preheated it with a propane torch, then sprayed on cleaner and let it do the job. Took me 4 tries but it came out perfect! Chrome was unscathed.

Using fine steel wool is typically suggested but I've never had very good luck with it, even making sure I used a liquid lubricant like WD-40 for additional protection. Ordering a new pipe sounds like what I would end up doing.
