find the nipple and add some air to them. Do not use an air compressor, use a hand pump. If they don't take air, check the hose fittings first before thinking that the shocks themselves are bad

If I am to just buy some normal shocks (non air) to go on the bike as replacement... what size would be suitable? somewhere between 12-14in I'm guessing? Would want it so it could carry a decent amount of weight!

When trying to pump up the shocks green fluid was coming out of the air valve... and they didn't go up at all.

Cheers

Stock length is nominally 13". There are US and British brands of suitable shocks available, but take a look around local bike shock suppliers first. Importing stuff yourself is likely to be expensive, so keep that in reserve. It IS worth importing good quality shocks (I've done that into the UK myself), but NOT worth doing IMHO for cheap shocks, as shipping and import duties can double the purchase price.
