Hi all,
I've been a member on here for a while but for personal reasons havent been able to get a bike.. until now. I really like the RoadKing and have noticed there are two variations, one with leather bags and the other with hard bags(the one i like). Are they both just RoadKings? or is there a model name? As i say im new to Harleys, and just trying to make searching for ones to buy with hard bags,a little easier.
Thanks

I'm going to look at a couple of RKC's this weekend, one is a 2010 the other a 2011. I just want to confirm before i commit to buying anything that i would be able to fit hard bags to both the 2010 and 2011 RKC. Sorry for the stupid questions, just want to make sure it can be done, before i spend my £££'s
Thanks

Both RKC and regular RK do have some differences. I had a 2002 Classic and it was the best choice for me. I liked the cruise control and the leather bags, which can carry a bit more than the hard bags IMO. The regular RK has its own logo and the badge on the gas tank is different. I loved the RKC badge better as well as the spoke wheels. The downside for the RKC is that you have inner tubes for the spoke wheels, but none for the regular RK.
Ride wise, I think the Road Kings are best at air flow design. Cruising at freeway speed, there was virtually no buffering coming from forks and air flowed through with ease. But, with my current Road Glide, I do feel some buffering coming from under the front fairing, which also brings wetness from rain and puddles right up with it.
All in all, both RKs are fine scoots. But, since I've ridden both, I found that RKC was better and not so many of them are on the road...which makes them a true classic and more valuable to hang on to!

I would be looking at a used one, about 5years old. Think I read somewhere that the soft and hard bags use the same mounting hardware, is that correct?. So I guess if I can't find anything with hard bags and spoked wheels, I could always buy the RKC and some after market hard boxes, would want them in white as I'm thinking of going with a duo-glide paint scheme.
