Default Apes on Ultra Limited - How high?

How high can I go on my 2010 limited without having to change the brake lines? I don't mind all the other crap, including possibly having to lengthen the clutch cable and other stuff including the TBW cable, but I hate cracking open the front brake system if I don't have to. But on the other hand, if I need to do it I will and figure out how to get the air out some way.

I am a closet ape appreciator. I've always liked apes, but never had a set. I think it's time to pull the trigger. I have read where ape owners wish, after the install, they had gone a little higher. Is this usually the case?

So what can you ape dudes tell me to get me all jacked-up over apes? I know they are cool and comfortable, so I get that all the way.

All my wiring is inside the bars, so I will need a fat-*** bar to get it all back in there I am sure.

For those of you that have done it and respond, thanks a million for all your tips and tricks to get it done without screwing up the farm!

10" is the tallest you can go Joe and that includes moving your wire connections under the radio. The clutch cable and brake line may need to be relocated as well.

I put the wild ones 14". Can't remember the model number. I went with 14's cause I was shopping 12's. Now I wish I had 16's for a little more pull back. I do like them though and do not plan on switching them for now. I didn't think the brake lines were all that bad. I was just real careful to not disturb the brake fluid manifold once I removed the banjos and then back filled the line from the bleed fitting up front using a special bleeding tool.

Different brands actually measure different heights so be sure you check actual measurements before purchasing. I put 12" HD batwing apes on with my stock brake line and clutch cable

I put 12 1/2 Wild One's on my 2010 Ultra. I went a head and replaced all the cables with Magnum Black Pearl.

Here's my setup right now. These are the HD easy reach bars which did require new brake lines and clutch line. I think I can get about 2 more inches out of the brake line as it is.

If I need more, can you get an extension for the Diamondback Brake lines or do you have to go back with a whole new front brake line? Doesn't matter, just need to know. Thanks

I wanted 10's, installed and use 10's and have never wished I had anything taller.
Last time I was over at North Myrtle beach HD they had a lot of used bikes with apes, I would take a ride over and sit on a few and see what you like?

I put Yaffe 12" classic apes on mine about. I extended all wiring and Brake lines on mine. If you do it get the fatter bars. The classics I put on are 1" bars and it was a pain to get the wires through the bars .
