I do not believe so. I'm not a chemist, but neither smells like it, and neither evaporates like they are.

You can buy the Novus at about any Harley Dealer, the Cee Bailey's is 10 bucks....

SEAFOAM sells a product called BugBeGone!!

Whatever the ingredients are in it apparently breaks down the proteins of the bug guts.

I use it on the nose of my Vette and my Harley fairing/and windshield....but usually spray it on after the car/bike is wet, leave it for ten minutes and the bugs are sliding off.
I supposed it could be sprayed onto the bugs, left for ten mins, wiped, then spray on your wax....

Great for cleaning eye glasses, and I even use it in my diving mask!! lol

I'm cheap. I use moistened used dryer sheets. Picks up bugs and grime, and it doesn't scratch anything. Wipe down with your favorite polish and call it done.

A friend of mine who had the cleanest bikes I have EVER seen, always kept a ziploc baggy under his seat with a Windex soaked paper towel (if I remember correctly).
At each stop he would get it out, and wipe away the bugs!
This was like 22 yrs ago! On his CBR1000 Hurricane! LOL

Edit: let me add, he is the one that I learned to use PLEDGE furniture polish on all my toys! LOL

I wouldn't use Windex on plastic, especially if it has ammonia. My windshield holds up well with Original Bike Spirits Cleaner/Wax. I have softened bugs up with Novus 1, Wizard Bug Cleaner and 10% Vinegar/water. Gets expensive with Novus and Wizard, so I just fill an old Novus with vinegar water and carry that on my bike.
