When you say you adjusted the clutch, what exactly did you do?

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. As usraptor asked, explain what you did when you adjusted the clutch?

Unless you did something wrong adjusting in in the primary, you probably don't have enough slack in the cable adjustment on the frame and its not letting it fully engaged. Loosen it a little.

Plus one!
Fix it soon or that is a good way to burn up the throw out bearing.

whouldnt do that in all gears if that was the case???

in fifth gear when you attempt to hit the gas ,, what RPM are you running at ?? ,, might be case of to low RPM and just need to grab a lower gear first.

What are you running for oil in the primary? My buddy has a 2012 and his was doing the same thing. He talked to the guys from Baker and they said more than likely he has a bearing that is slightly out of spec and it is "walking" just enough to cause it to slip. He was running Amsoil at the time, they said to remove that and use the HD primary+. He did that and it is much better. YMMV..

It's starting to sound like a bent transmission fork issue.

Sounds like it is in the tranny to me, but i would pull the primary cover and take a look at all the internals in there too, mic all clutch plates etc. Try running royal purple max cycle 20/50 this is amazing oil quiets down the primary drive a lot and makes shifts smoother and harder pull on the bike. I've turned a lot of people to this oil and they all have loved it and said what a difference.
