Default starter clutch replacement

I have my new all-***** starter clutch replacement ready to go on. I've read through the threads, and looked at my service manual (not much on the starter assembly procedure) and was wondering what everyone is using to lube or grease the gear assembly and bearings after cleaning.

I've used what's in my grease gun, which is currently Royal Purple UPG. Doesn't take much. Manual suggests Lubriplate 110, which is a brake grease.

Dissapointed in instructions from all balz. I got manual, but a short right up on just the stuff I need would be good.

What did mechanics do beforw youtube?

Be nice if they included grease sample pack. Be nice if they mention grease.

It has been a long time, but if I remember correctly, there is a single ball bearing that goes on the starter end of the starter drive between it and the solenoid plunger. Many cautioned it was easy to not notice and leave out.

I was hoping for something about which grease to use since I am seeing it sold in 35 pound buckets.
