Hi I am a new member and am looking to see if anyone can help with a problem I am having...1991 FLHS Tour glide classic - The bike starts and runs and when you rev the motor above 3000 RPM's the entire bike shuts down all electrical goes out headlights, dash board etc... Played with ignition and electrical comes back...the problem started with bad grounding - rebuilt ground wiring, put in new stator ran great for 1 month and then started sputtering and popping through the carb and now it is shutting down.

 

Could be idle / jet adjustment . I once had an issue with
my coil grounding out to coil cover which caused
sputtering and dying . Also check battery terminals
once had one almost cracked through and bouncing
of frame . Not sure if you have breakers but changing
them is inexpensive start!
