Brass inseet for windshield bolts
Went to install a new windshield from Custom FLHT windshields in Kentucky last night. The windshields are not tempered and come to you flat, not curved. After fitting it in the windshield groove, I went to re install the windshield bolts. Somehow I think I cross threaded the left and right inserts on the inner fairing and now the bolts won't go in correctly. My questions is, has anyone changed the inserts and how hard is it to replace them in the inner fairing on a 2014 Ultra.

No need to spend that much when they are only $2 each at the hd shop.
I am sure you can borrow a tap. or you can buy a spare and use a bolt with 2 nuts to use as a tap. Just screw in the bolt, take your time and use a little oil. remove the bolt and add the 2 nuts to hold it in place to screw in the new brass fitting. If the bolt is short enough you may not need any nuts to drive in the brass fitting.
