I burned my leg when I was around 18 on my Kawasaki KZ650(still have it too) my leg actually stuck to the pipe, I had to peel it off. I think there's a mark on the pipe still and I have a fading scar on my leg(barely see it now)
Never burned my leg, but dumb me, looked over the bike after a hour ride and noticed something on the pipe, so I wanting a clean new bike took my hand and wiped off the header pipe. Then I had two things on the pipe to clean off later my skin and the fried bug. That hurt.
Never burned my leg on my bike's exhaust as I always wear jeans when I ride...but in college I was getting out of a buddy's '69 Vette with side pipes and managed to burn the back of BOTH legs getting out.
How did the new windshield impact your prescription sunglasses instability problem ? Can you now ride without needing a cord around your head to keep your sunglasses from jumping around your face ?
Run to the drug store and buy Tegaderm. It's a clear bandage that stays on for more than a week. You can shower with it. You will heal as good as new. Don't wait. Do it ASAP.
I missed # 2 along the way, gotta look for it. Hey, you are not alone, I've taken the quick ride with shorts to check out a new install, and have done that. If you are as accident prone as we our in my house, have your doc give you a script for silva dine cream, it is unbelievable for burns, takes the sing out immediately, best thing I have found.

I had a KZ-650 when I was 18 as well. It was a 1981 KZ-650CSR. it didn't always like to start so the previous owner had punched two big dents into the tank.
