Question Should I buy a 2010 Street Glide or spring for the 2014 Street Glide Special?

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2010 Street glide with 1200 miles for around 17.5k. I also found a seller selling the 2014 Rushmore Street Glide Special with 1000 miles for 21k. The 2010 is a garage queen with all upgrades I like and has a 110 Screamin eagle motor, custom wheels front and rear, V&H pipes, Yaffe bars etc etc (all the goodies). Now the 2014 SGS is all stock. Both are black denim. Both are showroom condition. Part of me likes the newness of the 2014 but the other part of me like all the upgrades and the saving the will come with getting the 2010 with all the right upgrades.
What would you do?

Tough call! However there are some serious improvements on the '14s which would be my choice.

21K for a stock '14 Street Glide Special with 1,000 miles is more than you can get it new right now. But of course buying it new you would need to pay taxes.

7 weeks ago I picked up mine for just over 20,000 with 2 miles on the odometer. The '15's are out Monday and the '14's are going for well under MSRP.

But if you are choosing between the two used bikes.....go with the '14 SGS. Much better bike no matter how many mods are on the '10 SG. I traded my '12 Street Glide with $5,500 in mods and would definitely take the new '14 over the '12. JMHO

I'd call a few dealers around to be sure. You might do better on a brand spankin' new '14 right now. However, between the 2 used ones, go with the SGS. I think the warranty is transferable.

You got a great deal!
The 2014 is actually 19.5k now and I would still need to pay the 6% ($1170.00) tax here and put on pipes and backrest for the wife. When would be another few $1000.00. Dealers rock bottom price for a new Special is 22.5k around here.

This is a no brainer! 2010 for sure. Its got all the stuff you want, bigger motor, practically new all for less than the 14. Honestly, in my opinion, all you're paying for on the 14 is that infotainment system and those vents. Everything else can be done in the aftermarket for way better quality/features for way cheaper. Dont believe me? Look at all the stuff thats on the '10 and the selling price of it. I rest my case.

14 for sure. Throw a stage one on it, and a back rest for the wife and your set. In the end cost $4k more than the 2010 but the bike is 4 years newer, better suspension, infotainment blah blah blah. Plus another year of warranty.

The 2010 is 4 years older and only $2000 less than the 2014, which is mighty close to a brand new bike. The 2014 still has at least a year factory warranty. Dunlop tires seem to want to dry rot and crack sometimes so you need to look at that with 4 yr old tires.

Even with the extras on the 2010, I'd go for the 2014.
