Cruise control Won't Stop with Brakes
#11
Travis Davis sort of hit the nail on the head. My buddies '14 limited as stated before does the same. He is now being told by his dealer that there is a "new" front brake light switch that will fix the problem. It is a known problem. Until you can get it fixed I would suggest to use the roll off throttle or rear brake method to disengage the cruise or not use it all together. If yours is not a 2014 you have other issues.

What I found out
I had/have the same problem on my 2014 Ultra Limited. Dealership changed the switch housing and the new one helped to some degree. I did find out by just slowly applying the front brake it would disengage the cruise everytime. The dealer changed the switch about two months ago.

While I understand the OP's frustration, I would offer the following observation...
Of the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, at least 5 different ways to disengage the cruise control while underway, using the front brake to do so (other than in a quick-stop situation) is not ideal.
I have cruise on two different bikes, and the roll-forward option on the Harley is the nicest option for cruise disengagement I know of.
All the best,
Shane
(Edited to add, I think there are actually 6 ways to shut off the cruise while underway: Front brake, Rear brake, Clutch in, Throttle forward roll, Cruise power button, Accelerate 10mph or more with cruise engaged.)

Except on my 2014 Limited, I think I can accelerate above 10mph and it will not disengage the cruise control.
