Default To wrap or not to wrap? That is the question.

Gents, recently, one of my good friends passed on a two into one V&H exhaust for my street glide. Now my question is this? Can you wrap over the exisiting heat shields and it not be a problem? Or do you have to take the shields off and wrap the bare pipe alone and put a high temp silicon spray on em? thoughts, suggestions, witty comments and haters welcome...

Thats what i was thinking, It seemed to me that wrapping the shields would look bulky as hell...thaks for the input. As for a silicon spray...need or no?

I'd go with no spray. Just soak the wraps in water for an hour or so before starting the wrapping process.

I would avoid the cheap fibreglass wrap

I used this on a turbo build, worked good, no wetting the wrap
Its more $$$$

But in the long run worth it

Just my 2 cents
JP has it in stock 2 links below

Yeah, I looked at those but I am specifically doing my wraps in red and then the slip on mufflers in black...trying to work club colors in the scoot..do they have red titanium wraps?

I found red on ebay, pretty legit company, but they are not titanium, How bad will they discolor or will they discolor at all. I have seen them on some bobbers as of late and they look sic! I have done wrapping on three bikes, just don't know how red will discolor. any info out there?

do the red wrap and paint your heat shields to match the exhaust. That would look great.
