Question Oil Cooler question

I was talking to a buddy of mine that has a 2011 Ultra Limitied with a 103 and he was talking about having to change the oil cooler filter. I have a 09 SG with a 96cc motor. How do I know if it has a oil cooler or not? Not sure reason I'm questioning. Thanks...

I think your buddy is yanking your chain. No such animal as an oil cooler filter. If your bike is a stock 09 there's no oil cooler on it either. If it did have one it would look like a small finned radiator somewhere on the front downtubes of your scoot.

I have a 2010 Ultra and recently added a Harley oil cooler. There is no oil filter on the H-D version.

oil coolers are std on 103" motor packages

the 96 came without.

you can easily add one from HD or jagg...the hardest part is opening the wallet- wide!

He was possibly mentioning it being harder to remove the oil filter with the cooler being there.

I have a '13 Limited with production oil cooler for the 103" pkg. No oil cooler filter to my knowledge.

You know the filter and cooler are very close and I could see where someone may assume the stock filter is for the cooler.....

I do believe that your local dealer has the oil cooler filters stowed next to the muffler bearings and Johnson rods...
