Default Tallboy Fail! The search continues

I'm getting a little tired and frustrated looking for a comfortable seat for my FLHTK. So far I've tried Stock, Sundowner, Hammock and most recently the Tallboy. With the Tallboy I finally felt like I wasn't cramped up against the tank and at first I thought this was going to be my seat. That is until today.

I did a nice 600 mile ride today and got a lot of continuous saddle time. Overall my butt felt OK, but did get a little sore at the end. I was chalking this up to getting used to the new seat. That's not what bothered me though. What caused me to hate this seat was that every time I hit the breaks my butt slid forward on the seat right up to the tank. I spent a ton of my ride scooching my butt back. Annoying as hell.

Well, the search for the right seat continues. I'm seriously thinking that I'll have to bite the bullet and get a Mustang Super Tour. Looks like someone on this forum is going to get a deal on a Tallboy soon!

I've got the same seat on my 14 SG and guess what. I slide forward each and every time as well. I'm looking at having it reshaped instead of a new seat. MCC will do a modification and do a double decker memory foam. Cheaper than any seat.

Mean City cycles can help with that.

I have a Supertouring seat and it's ok. After 600 miles I would be squirming, I'll say that. I use it with a Airhawk and Bead rider - not at the same time - I alternate. That said, it's a good seat and I doubt you would slide forward when braking.

In the same boat, but looking at a 14 day trial from Ultimate seats next. Had Sundowner on my 11 limited, was great, but 14 is not the same

I had a Sundowner on my my old Road King and that seat felt perfect. I figured a Sundowner on my Limited would be great as well. Like you though it just was not the same.

I'll have to look at this 14 day trial as well. First I'm hearing about it.

Mustang and Ultimate are both great seats, my final solution was Road Zepplin.

I have a Tallboy as well. I don't mind the distance either but I do slide forward every now and then.

I have one and working on having it recovered with alternate material which hinders the sliding. Also the tongue reaches to far up the dash and tank which requires a rag to protect the paint.
