I took my air cleaner off today to check the filter, mine has never dripped oil from the football cover, but just like most of the touring bikes I see the filter was soaked in oil. I cleaned the fliter and the rerouted the breather tubes to the ground instead of in the air cleaner. I'm using a fuel moto stage 1 air cleaner so it made this very easy to do.
I went to the local auto parts store and bought the 7/32 windshield washer hose. It comes in a 5 foot length, oil and solvent resistant for about 5 dollars incl tax. I had a tee fitting at home and with the fuel moto head fittings I slid the hose over the barbs, connected the tee behind the backing plate, and routed the line over the rear cyl and zip tied it to the frame then to the ground beside the fuel overflow hose. I plugged the holes in the backing plate with silicone and it's done. You can't see it behind the football cover at all.

 

Keep a eye on that washer hose. It's gets pretty hot in there. I did the same thing with fuel hose.

 

Update: I've since put about 1500 miles on, estill no issues with the hose.
