Default EITMS 2014 street glide

Do most have set to enable or disable ? And what was reason for choice. mine came with disable and not sure what logic to use in deciding. Could build case either way so maybe that's my answer.

I always leave it enabled. Logic? Do you know why it is built into the bike? The owners manual will explain.

Less heat

It was designed for rider comfort, and beginning in 2014, the parameters changed for it to come on at or above 80°F AAT.

I have always left mine disabled... I live in South Texas.

jcapps,Ya I know why they put it there do you??? Think maybe could have something to do with lean tune catalytic converter and un needed heat . And my thinking is with head pipe and proper tune maybe I don't need the extra abuse of bike going into that mode.

I leave mine disabled.

It's for rider comfort only and I don't like the hesitation when it's activated and I start to take off.

That's what is cool about it, pretty easy to enable/disable.. During the summer here in Georgia I leave it enabled. It comes on a lot as most our days are way over 80 degrees. I notice it at idle but it's not a bad feeling or too much vibration for me. I have never had the bike stumble upon take off, blip the throttle and I'm ready to go. Try it yourself and see which way you like it. I'll probably disable soon due to cooler weather coming.

Mine is always enabled. Never had a hesitation problem. Let the computer decide when it is getting too hot. Even if my bike was catless and super tuned I'd have it enabled. It may never activate but it is available.

The primary reason for this is Not rider comfort.

This was designed for engine heat management to prevent engine overheating. Rider comfort is an ancillary bennefit that is highlighted in their liturature as a marketing tool.

No, he is referring to the ambient air temps, if the temperature is 80 or more then it will engage.

I leave mine turned off. I really don't notice any heat and I don't like the sound when it's active.
