my biggest concern with this is simply the fitment. Most of these custom parts are just that and made for people who don't really ride a bike but instead trailer it everywhere they go. So for most of those real custom owners, rain is never an issue; if their bikes ever see water at all. I'm not concerned with the double-din piece of it as that goes with the territory.. just don't water inside that fairing every time the sky decides to cloud up. I also have Dakota Digital gauges which is more of a concern to me than the head unit would be.

Other than this little disclaimer under the description, I don't know why you'd be concerned about water damage, etc.

(Some minor alteration will need to be done to brackets and wiring)
ackets and wiring)

You are hanging out with the wrong custom bike guys then

Most of the ones I know ride in the rain if out riding (some even start in the rain if need be - i don't like to do that if i can avoid it). This last weekend we had a 26 do almost 100 miles and i did almost 700 on my 23. Both of us got caught in the rain on our respective rides.

I looked long/hard on that same one Ultra.. Just didn't dare be a guinea pig. Like you said.. No info out there.

Another concern I had was finding some sort of non-hackjob cover for it when it rains.

I just got the biketronics cover for mine and it's bad. I'm not putting those stupid velcro circles in there!!

Should have just bit the bullet and bought the vtwin cover.
