Default Need advice on cams and motor work 2012 limited

I am looking to do some work to my stock(motor) 2012, 103 ultra limited this winter to keep up with and beat my buddys 06 ultra; who has a screamin eagle 103 kit and 211 SE cams..

My 12 limited has SE air intake, V&H power dule headers with monster oval slip ons, SE pro tuner. I am looking into getting woods cams eather, 222 555 or 777 and port/polish the stock heads with upgraded springs.

Can anyone give advice on the cam choice to make me the first one to 80 mph from a red light also, to be able to pull away from him when were doggin along in third and he decides to crack on it..? And what do you feel about stepin up my compression from stock 9.5/1 to 10/1, whats the pros vs cons

Any questions about my bike or his just ask ill try to get back to you asap

I would at minimum go to 10.5 or 10.8 to 1 and use 555 or 777 cams. There are no cons if it's tuned properly. If you have the money I would go with head porting also. If you do the head porting it opens up a whole better level of cams. Contact someone like fuel moto,Tman performance and use their advise on a whole package.

I would go to TW 777 and 10.25 atleast on compression. If you can get it dynoed. If dyno not likely would be glad to fix you up a map.

A 103 with TW-777 cams, 10.5 to 1 compression with a stage 2 type head is impressive.

Fuel moto has a dyno sheet of this build on their website. It will definately whip your buddies 211 cam build.

Thanks for the comments the 777 were the ones I was looking at and leaning towards with stock compression. Do you guys think this cam will perform better with the higher comp. And why? Is there any draw backs such as reliability? This is still a bagger and I do put about 8k a yr..?

Why not just do a fuel moto 107 build and up the compression to at least a 10.5:1 and there head work? For cams id go with 777 maybe even 888

Like I posted before the 777 need compression to work properly. If you want to just put cams in it they are the wrong choice. I do 15000 a year on a heavily modified Harley and would drive It across the country if I had the time.

Bob builds his cams for higher than stock compression. 10.5 to 1 is where I would start. if it were me, fuelmoto 107 with 777 and their heads. A horsepower inc. throttle body a heavy duty clutch spring and be done
