One of the myriad reasons I am glad I am in Texas! This is when the good riding begins (after summer) and extends until next May.

I'd be embarassed to admit that I was even thinking of that.

Getting it out once a month is not possible in my part of NY. The roads are never clear enough, nor is the ice from my 100' long driveway. I also don't trust my Harley and my personal injury on the fact that the DOT has the roads bare enough or the potholes filled. I do concern myself with my bike more than my truck because I like it more. :-)

I have heard that a 60 watt bulb placed under the bike while it is covered will keep the air just warm enough to prevent condensation. Just have to keep it away from the cover. I haven't done this but I might give it a shot for the hell of it.

I used to live in Northern Michigan. We averaged over 200 inches of snowfall per year.

One year, 2008 I think it was, I spent 3 hours with the snowblower moving over 2' of snow so I could drag my trailer that had the Harleys stored in it, out because the main roads were actually dry.

I towed to town, unloaded, and rode 50 miles. On March 31st.

My neighborhood had icepack on the streets that was 6" thick.

It went into storage in October, just ahead of our first big snowstorm.

Most folks don't understand what it is to live in the Northern Tier...
I do, that's one reason I now live in South Texas...

I keep it stored at 65 with dry electric heat, dont really know if its good for the rubber stuff or if it matters at all? id like to know too.I turn it on early fall and off late spring.

just started using a tender cause of other issues to do with power consumption,do they make a battery with 1000 cranking amps? I ride all year.

I love this time of year and winter in NC. We ride all year ( as long as the temps are above 32 degrees with no rain and ice. I guess that's why the traffic builds every year!

You need one of these. Specifically made for just what you are worried about. They are used in RV's a lot as well as basements. Just enough heat to keep condensation from forming. This is an example. They come in different sizes.
