Cush drive pulley fell apart....
2011 Limited, 13K miles.
I pull up to work today, bike sounds like santa's sleigh jinglin'. I look around, can't find a thing. Late for work, F it I'll look later.
Find the problem on the way home....rear pulley has come apart, the inside "lip" has come off and is spinning right round baby on the hub. Belt is tracking about 25% off the pulley (to the inside). I limp the thing over to a buddy's shop (he has tires, and I'm due) and it's parked.
I understand the rear eccentric/cam adjusters are NOT independant...so the wheel alignment should be spot on. Of course this begs the question why is the belt tracking that far to the inside. Looking at the construction of that pulley it appears the inner lip is simply peened on...I'm sure the belt just forced it off.
I can't recall looking at the pulley and noting where the belt was over the last 3k miles (second owner, I bought it at 10k).
Thoughts? Suggestions? Friggin pulley is $250 and a WEEK away from Harley Dealer . This is my everyday commuter so I need it back asap.

This is backwards.. Rolling forward the belt moves to the outside.. Backwards to the inside.. So unless the guy has been pushing it backwards all the time, chances are there is something else wrong.. With the rear wheel off the deck, rotate the wheel forward. If the belt says on the inside, there is something wrong with the snail cams, swingarm bearings, pulley etc.. The inside ring is sort of staked on.. Have seen them come off.. Probably poor staking but pulley alignment / belt tracking should always be checked any time the rear axle nut is loosened.
