Ok, I gotta ask. What makes this seat a 2008 year only and not 2008 and newer? Did Corbin spin some kind of special magic into the seat that makes it only work that one year?

No magic... The 07 and 08 touring was the the first year for 6 gallon gas tanks and had a narrow frame. Frame design was changed in 09. 09 seat will fit a 08 but the 08 seat will expose part of the frame on a 09 and up and looks a little funky.

correct -- it leaves a noticeable gap on 09 and up -- no filler piece to cover it
