I am interested in just the backrest. I have the 79538 which is the seat without the backrest. The Backrest part# is 79557.

79538+79557=79556

79538 - $485.10
79557 - $188.10
79556 - $674.10

You can get them $0.90 cheaper by buying separate at J&P Cycles.

If the issue is not the seat, but the fiance's apprehension, might the solution be to buy her a backrest?

Seriously, I think the perceived (even real) safety factor of having something solid to lean into may be what she needs. Ask her -- she may be most afraid of falling off. I know my wife would never be willing to ride 'bareback'.

On the bike, I mean.
