FS: custom machined aluminum knob for TC88 oil dipstick
#1
SOLD: custom machined aluminum **** for TC88 oil dipstick
SOLD: custom machined aluminum **** for the "plug in" TC88 oil dipstick.
I bought this for my '00 FLTR from someone who was making them in is his own shop. It's a replacement for the knurled plastic "cap" which attaches to the plug-in style dipstick on Twin Cam 88 engines. It actually "grips" the dipstick better than the stock plastic piece, and makes it much easier to get ahold of the dipstick and pull it out. He said that Harley wanted to license his design, but he refused because the royalty payment per item that HD offered was far too low.
It's a beautiful piece of machine work, and even after using it for several years, it still shines as it did when new -- in excellent condition.
I traded my TC88 bike in 2011, and the TC96 I have now uses a screw-in dipstick, so this item is surplus.
My bike was a Road Glide, so I'll reckon this will fit any TC88 touring bike. I can't recall if the Dyna and Heritage TC88 engines used the same type of dipstick, but if they did -- with the removable knurled plastic cap -- this ought to work on those, as well.
Original cost was $48.
I'll sell for $20, which includes postage in the USA (USA sales only, please).
I'll also offer a return privilege. Try it and if it doesn't work for you, send it back (you pay the return shipping) and I'll refund the $20. But I think you'll like it - it served me well for years!
I prefer payment with a U.S. Postal money order.
I can't do PayPal.
Please respond by sending me an email via my home page.
Thanks for looking!
