As elsewhere, Vivid Black was the only available choice ... and I too am very happy.
I'm sure the Freewheeler will have it's own set of technical issues. It's nice to have a forum to go to for discussion on the pros and cons and, to see how wide spread certain issues are ( like the "surging" rear brake anomaly.)

You getting that rear brake surge too. Haven't spoke to my dealer yet about it. Any ideas?

I have 1,500 miles on my black Freewheeler at this point. Stopped with it at the dealer yesterday and the tech told me about a class that he just went to that a fix is needed for the trunk lid lock. The recall has not been issued yet. It is a quick fix but if the lock fails it is very difficult to open the lid. The right fender has to be removed and a plug knocked out. Then some fishing to unlatch the lid.
It is a simple fix that can be done diy. The cable from the key lock to the latch enters the latch assembly though a tubular plastic part on the bottom. Right where the cable goes in it looks like a short tube. The fix is to secure the tube with two tie wraps around the circumference. It just keeps the tube from splitting open.
851170 - No rear brake surge at all. Over 400 of those miles was in temps ranging in the teens to twenties. I got it to replace my Ural (too slow) for winter riding. I typically average 6K winter miles.
