Default Just The Opposite

I seem to have the opposite problem. If it's nice enough outside to be cleaning the bike I usually find myself riding it instead! Washing the bike is a pain in my ****. It cuts to much into my riding time!

I wish they made clear tear offs for my Hog. That way I could pull off a layer when it was dirty and BAM...all clean again and I could go riding instead of washing the bugs and road grime off.

Let's not bother with the details or physics of how tear offs would not work on chrome or any part that is near a heat source. Don't stomp on my day dream!!!

I'm like that with all my vehicles, but I get over it and just ride. I do 2 to 3 long distance rides each year so now even if I wanted to clean it, I don't have the time.

I use to show my Vette in car shows - so talk about being **** on cleaning. My mom use to yell at me for constantly shining the chrome on my bicycle with my "snot rag".

Now if I want to clean the trike, I'll spray it down with S100 and hose it off - then go for a ride to dry it off.

Life for me is too short to waste time cleaning - even though I do like a clean looking bike.

My car, I take it to a car wash once every month or two - IF it needs it.

Some people live to clean, some live to ride. Whatever you do, just enjoy the hell out of it.

I find keeping it clean is pretty easy. I just drive it into the front yard bucket wash it real quick and wipe her down. Now waxing is another thing. But a quick wash once a week keeps it looking pretty good. I hate to let grim get to ground in. I find it much more enjoyable than washing a car or truck.

The weather gets to sucking a lot around here, that's when any cleaning gets done. Lotsa wax then, makes just hosing it off later work better.

You can wash a car or pickup truck? Now that just seems silly.

I live on a dirt road and am compelled to hose down and towel-dry the back end after almost every ride. Takes about 10 minutes. So it never really GETS dirty. I've ridden it every day since delivery.

Gary, here is a link that may help. I live in the metro area but haven't heard about the construction areas.

5 minutes with a 1300 PSI pressure washer and foamer, wipe it down with a micro-fiber towel and Turtle Wax shine and dry. Whole process takes 15 minutes for both trikes. 5000 miles on my Freewheeler, 3500 on wife's Tri-Glide. Didn't buy the trikes to look at.

Also I have had comments about how shiny and clean my trike is from non riders. When really I haven't washed it in awhile. They look cleaner than we think.
